Get a flavor for Las Vegas, Nevada in 48 hours

Natalie, Nancy & Kristen’s girls weekend in Vegas brunching, eating, and drinking through the strip!

Las Vegas

Activities

High Roller at LINQ

The High Roller was a really cool way to see a view of the strip – I just wish it lasted longer!  It’s a 30 minute ride on a giant slow-moving ferris wheel, and if you select the bar option, its 30 minutes of unlimited drinks.  There were about 20 of us in each pod.  Our bartender was great, and served us fast, as we were all trying to get as many drinks as possible in the 30 minute time period.  We all took shots at the top!  I’m glad I did it once, but it was a bit overpriced, in my opinion.

Bellagio fountain

The giant fountain in front of the Bellagio hotel does a water show in sync with music every half hour in the daytime and every 15 minutes at night.  It’s free to see, and you can see it anywhere from the sidewalk in front.  It’s worth checking out one of the shows.

Pro tip: If you’re not into heavy gambling, sit at the bar in any casino and play video poker to get complimentary drinks.

Restaurants

Marrakech Mediterranean Restaurant

Marrakech Mediterranean Restaurant was so much fun!  It’s a standard pre-fixed 6-course Mediterranean menu.  The food was amazing – we ate WAY too much!  During dinner there is a belly dancing show with traditional Moroccan music.  The restaurant was really dark inside, with cool Moroccan décor – tapestries on the wall, a tent ceiling, etc.  It was a really unique experience and we would definitely go back.  It’s located about 2 blocks behind the central part of the strip, so it was an easy 5 minute Uber ride there.

Mon Ami Gabi

Located in Paris, Mon Ami Gabi is a cute French bistro for brunch.  They had traditional French food, and offered a Bloody Mary bar.  We had awesome French onion soup. There is an outdoor patio where you can see the Bellagio fountain and people watch.

Chandelier Bar

Chandelier Bar is a very pretty bar located in the middle of the Cosmopolitan.  The “walls” of the 3-story bar are all long strings of crystals, as if you were inside a giant chandelier.  The drinks were pricey, but it was a really cool atmosphere.

Rose Rabbit Lie

Located in the Cosmopolitan, Rose Rabbit Lie was a bit overpriced and overrated.  It was a really cute, “Alice in Wonderland” theme.  However, the food was very pricey for such small portions.  The restaurant was DARK, so it was hard for us (with young eyes!) to read the menu or see the food.  They had live music, which was so nice, but while they were playing, it was so loud we literally couldn’t talk.  We had heard good things about it, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Hotel

Treasure Island

Treasure Island hotel was fine.  It’s one of the older hotels, so it’s not as fancy as most, and the casino smells a little stale.  However it’s fairly centrally located on the strip, and we chose it for its moderate price.  (You’re rarely in the room anyway!)  We lucked out with a room with a view of the strip.  We laid out at the pool in the afternoon.  It’s a smaller pool than some of the other hotels, and not the DJ/party atmosphere you’ll find elsewhere, but it was still fine.

Transportation

We flew into Vegas and took an easy cab ride to the hotel.  We walked everywhere on the strip.  There are people out on the strip all hours of the night, so it’s fairly safe to walk everywhere.
